Major League Soccer's 2009 expansion side Seattle Sounders will participate in a 10-round 2008 MLS Expansion Draft scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 26. Each MLS team is allowed to protect from selection in the draft 11 players off their roster.

The Crew have been in Major League Soccer for 13 years, the Fire for 11. The Fire have been in the playoffs 10 of their 11 seasons, but have never faced the Crew in the postseason.

For the Eastern Conference Championship, the Crew will have to come back on a short week after finishing their semifinal series on Saturday. After back-to-back shutouts of New England in their semifinal series, the Fire feel they have regained their form.

After a scoreless result in the first game of their Eastern Conference Semifinal Series, both the Chicago Fire and New England Revolution were looking for someone to lead them to victory Thursday night. With dedication and a bit of hard work, Chicago's Chris Rolfe became that player.

The Chicago Fire defeated New England 3-0 in front of 17,312 at TOYOTA PARK to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Chicago Fire 2008 Golden Boot winner Chris Rolfe scored the game winning goal, with insurance goals scored by defenders Wilman Conde and Gonzalo Segares. Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year Jon Busch recorded the shutout.

Bakary Soumare had to take a step back to take a step forward. After a rookie season in which he played as a holding midfielder for both Dave Sarachan and Juan Carlos Osorio, Soumare was moved back to his natural position of center back for 2008 by new Fire coach Denis Hamlett.

It will certainly be a shorthanded New England Revolution as they embark on their bid to reach the MLS Cup Final for a fourth consecutive year. Remarkably, the Fire and Revolution have met six times in the last eight years in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Last year, a hard-fought 1-0 win by New England sent the Revs to the MLS Cup Final.
